This is the first block of steel transformed into a putter in the shop. Coming from our modelling of the classic Anser design, we shaped it with the appropriate combination of loft, weight, CG and MOI for our main goals, enhanced topspin and feel. It got two face milling patterns tested before its final version, until we reached the right geometry on the textured grooves for a better than expected soft feel when “working” the ball, which is how it feels rather than just hitting the ball, the opposite of a glassy sensation of a ball bouncing off at impact. Topspin was more than satisfactory.
